YEREVAN, OCTOBER 6, ARMENPRESS.  Canada’s government cannot sit silently while Nagorno Karabakh conflict escalates. “Armenpress” reports that Girair Basmadjian, President of Armenian National Committee of Canada, mentioned about this in a letter addressed to Foreign Affairs Minister of Canada Rob Nicholson, urging Canadian government to condemn Azerbaijani initiated attacks on Armenian troops and civilians.

Reminding Prime Minister Harper’s earlier speeches that Canada cannot afford to sit by the sidelines while there are civilians being killed by a brutal dictatorship, he emphasizes that the Canadian government has not yet responded to the recent provocative measures taken by Azerbaijan on Armenia-Azerbaijan border and on Karabakh-Azerbaijan contact line, causing death to civilians of Tavush Province bordering communities.

“The ANCC calls upon Canada to reiterate its support for the OSCE Minsk Group peace process and to condemn these attacks by Azerbaijan”, reads the letter.
