Charles Aznavour suggests to raise glasses for peace in Armenia

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 3, ARMENPRESS. On October 1 an official reception was held by Ambassador of Armenia to Switzerland, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Armenia to the UN Office in Geneva, Charles Aznavour at Geneva InterContinental Hotel dedicated to the 24th anniversary of Republic of Armenia independence. As "Armenpress" was informed from the Department of Press, Information and Public Relations of MFA Armenia, President of the UN-Human Rights Council Joachim Ruecker, representatives of federal legislative and executive authorities of Switzerland, representatives of numerous diplomatic missions accredited in UN Office in Geneva and Bern, heads of international organizations, representatives of the Armenian community in Switzerland.

Ambassador Aznavour mentioned in his speech that 24 years, indeed, is not a long time for nation with a history dating back 3 thousand years. Anyway, the 24 years of independence is a crucial period for our nation, particularly in terms of re-integration in the family of different nations.

He expressed his gratitude to all friends of Armenia, all those who accompanied Armenia in that path, pointing out, particularly, Switzerland and the international organizations located in Geneva.

Charles Aznavour suggested to raise glasses for Armenia’s peace and prosperity, for Armenia-Switzerland friendship and the best future of our planet.

“My parents being deprived of a motherland, I am glad to have three motherlands where I feel happy: Armenia, France and Switzerland”, Ambassador Aznavour mentioned.
