Benefactor couple brings to life last wish of late Garegin I

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 28, ARMENPRESS. Scientific, educational and spiritual institutions of Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin are replenished with another one: “Garegin I” educational center opened. The idea of the center is to fulfill the last commandment of the late Catholicos, which was brought to life by Hayk and Elza Titizians residing in England. The Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, Hovik Abrahamyan, high ranking clergymen of the Armenian Apostolic Church, Ministers of Diaspora and Culture, and other invited people attended the solemn opening ceremony. “Armenpress” reports that in an interview with journalists, benefactor Hayk Titizian, who was ordained as the “Godfather of the Holy Chrism” of 2015, mentioned that they fulfilled the wish of late Garegin I together with his wife. “This started when His Holiness, was, unfortunately, sick when I asked him what was his desire. He said, “Garegin I scientific-educational center”.  When I told him that I will bring to life his desire, he took me by the hand and blessed”, Hayk Titizian said, stressing that the project became possible due to the huge efforts of the current Catholicos, His Holiness Garegin II.

The Catholicos of all Armenians informed that the center is intended for the training of the clergy of the Armenian Church, teachers of Christian education and pedagogues of Diaspora teaching at Armenian schools. According to him, the Armenian nation is the advocate of science, education and culture which reached its Golden Age even when it was deprived of statehood.

He informed that the center will be ready in March-April of the next year if the  constructors go on working with the same enthusiasm.
