Armenia freely cooperates with NATO and CSTO

YERERVAN, SEPTEMBER 18, ARMENPRESS. Armenia had a great contribution in the establishment of the military component of the Collective Security Treaty Organization. “Armenpress” reports that during the meeting with the students of Leadership School, the Armenian Defense Minister, Seyran Ohanyan, emphasized that our country also had significant contribution in the establishment of the CSTO rapid reaction forces. “We assumed the CSTO chairmanship in Dushanbe. During this process our priorities will be the final formation of the management system and the operative decision making. We offer to intensify joint operations. Our aim is to ensure the distribution of the operational reserves according to regions, the transfer of equipments to other countries and the improvement of the air defense”, Seyran Ohanyan mentioned.

The Defense Minister also highlighted the improvement of peace-keeping troops within CSTO. “Our peace-keeping troops serve an example, even under the conditions that everyone knows that the United States of America supports us in establishing peace-keeping forces”, Ohanyan said, emphasizing that Armenia freely cooperates with both Collective Security Treaty Organization and North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).
