Aram Shabazyan’s “Moskvich, My Love” film awarded at international film festival

YEREVAN, AUGUST 29, ARMENPRESS. Armenian-Russian-French co-production "Moskvich, My Love" full-length feature film was awarded at the Sakhalin international “At the Edge” film festival. The director of the film is Aram Shabazyan. “Armenpress” reports, citing the official website of the festival, sakhalinfilmfestival.ru, that the Audience Choice Grand Prix was awarded to the film "Moskvich, My Love” directed by Aram Shahbazyan.

Armenia participated in the festival for the first time with a film presenting the great tragedy of a small human being. “Moskvich, My Love” participated also in the Yerevan “Golden Apricot” international film festival and where it received two awards.

The film is based on a real story. The film was shot in Armenia. The hero of the film is Hamo who migrated from Azerbaijan. He lives in small Armenian village with his family. What they possess is a cow and some hens. Once a month Hamo visits the administrative center to receive some remittances from his son. It seems that Hamo’s life would go on in that monotonous way if Hamo did not hear the conversation of people gathered in the administrative center. One of them says that a “Moskvich” car is on sale in the neighboring village. Hamo goes to that village and sees that car. The owner of the car agrees to wait until Hamo will bring the 800 dollars. Acquiring the money for the car becomes the aim of Hamo’s life who had kept the dream until the old age.
