General Manager of Azerbaijani “Qäbälä” football club, Zaur Azizov, announced that they informed the leadership of Borussia Dortmund after the Europa League group stage draws that the Armenian midfielder of the team may encounter problems visiting Azerbaijan. For its part the German club expressed wish to visit Azerbaijan by full composition. “Armenpress” reports that in an interview with Azerisport Azizov mentioned that in this case the standpoint of the club is not so important.

“The Republic of Azerbaijan has its own laws which must be followed by everyone. State institutions will solve that problem. We will do the way they will decide. We informed the Dortmund club about the laws of our country after the draws. They told us that they will discuss that issue inside the club but of course, they expressed wish to visit Azerbaijan in full composition”, he said.

After the draws of the UEFA Europa League, when it became clear that Borussia Dortmund, where the midfielder of the national team of Armenia, Henrikh Mkhitaryan plays, was to compete with Azerbaijani Qäbälä, information was spread by Azerbaijani media that Mkhitaryan may not get the visa or can even be arrested by Azerbaijani authorities. Borussia Dortmund hoped that Henrikh Mkhitaryan will not encounter any problems during his visit to Azerbaijan to play against “Qäbälä” within the framework of Europa League.
