YEREVAN, AUGUST 28, ARMENPPRESS. Leaders of EU states are ready to convene a summit to discuss migrants’ issue in case of necessity. “Armenpress” reports that Chancellor of GFR, Angela Merkel, announced about this in a press conference summing up the results of the negotiations with the Prime Minister of Denmark, Lars Løkke Rasmussen.

“We asked the Ministers of Interior to develop measures for the possible change of the status of refugees. In case of necessity, leaders of states and governments are ready to convene an early session after the completion of that task”, she said.

Earlier, Foreign Ministers of Germany and Austria had urged the EU member states to find a unified solution to the problem of migrants. “The countries which are hit worst by migrants’ influx cannot cope with it alone. We need unified standards and procedures”, said Frank-Walter Steinmeier, the Foreign Minister of Germany.
