YEREVAN, AUGUST 27, ARMENPRESS. During the meeting with the President of the Republic of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan, leader of the Christian Democratic Union of Armenia (CDUA) party, Khosrov Harutyunyan, assured that constructive debate and dialogue over the mother law of the country is launched. Harutyunyan mentioned in an interview with “Armenpress” that the procedure of the Constitutional reforms effectively goes ahead and one of the reasons for it is that the draft Constitution was introduced in quite an early stage. “CDUA presented a 42-page suggestion-analysis which were discussed with the Commission on Constitutional Reforms adjunct to the President of the Republic of Armenia”, the president of CDUA said, adding that some of their suggestions have been accepted.

According to Khosrov Harutyunyan there was a demand for Constitutional reforms in the country as the country and political forces have matured.

Referring to the results of the discussions between the President and the political forces, Khosrov Harutyunyan expressed a viewpoint that an atmosphere of constructive dialogue will be formed in the country. “The President does not hide that a maximum public consolidation is needed over the Constitutional reforms. He also tries to understand his opponents and, why not, to influence on their political stance based on his experience and skills. This step is unique to head of state. No wonder that after meeting with the President, the political forces which had discrepancies with this or that issue, start to ponder over their stance, as the President of the Republic of Armenia brings forward convincing arguments and has a specific skill to interact and persuade people”, Harutyunyan said.
