French Armenian chef is sure that Armenia can capture global market by its pure natural products

YEREVAN, AUGUST 27, ARMENPRESS. French chef with Armenian roots, Alain Alexanian, is an advocate of transforming old traditional recipes into modern ones. In this way he serves his French clients with dishes inherited from her grandmother with some changes and new combinations.  The chef hosted in the press conference hall of “Armenpress” shared his vision how to popularize and spread Armenian natural products. “Yes, I prepare Armenian dishes but I always try to make some innovations by moving a little away from the recipes of our grandmothers which are very oily. It is no longer accepted to prepare oily dishes”, Alain Alexanian said, presenting examples of very simple recipes of his own.

Alain Alexanian has been in Armenia since last month and worked intensively in rural communities aimed to revalue the natural products unique to those areas. He managed to attend the preparatory works of “Jewels of Odzun” festival, which is to be held on September 12. According to him, Odzun is home to green gold of Armenia. “Any species of herbs can grow in Odzun. There are 10 species of thyme and, interestingly, all those species can be grown here”, noted Alain Alexanian. In all communities he tries to motivate people to realize the natural products of their regions not only in Armenian market, but also abroad. “All those species of herbs must be exported which will contribute to the solution of the issue of emigration. My aim is to explain villagers how to utilize that wealth”, added the French Armenian chef.

According to him, currently Europe desires to utilize organic products and in Armenia almost everything is very pure: fruits, herbs, pork.
