YEREVAN, AUGUST 26, ARMENPRESS. The Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Armenia, Sergo Karapetyan, paid a working visit to Kotayk Province on August 26. He visited Alapars community to get acquainted with the raspberry cultivation, and then he attended apple orchards in Nor Geghi and got acquainted with the construction works of the new greenhouses.

The Minister mentioned in an interview with journalists that abundant apple harvest is expected in Kotayk Province. “We can say that this year is a year of apple, because there is a excellent harvest, and the province is favorable for apple cultivation. I consider the increase in the volume of soil cultivation the greatest achievement of Kotayk Province, which increased by 1000 acres during the last 10 years”, Sergo Karapetyan added.

“Armenpress” reports that Sergo Karapetyan emphasized that the number greenhouses rises in the province. Only this year greenhouses covering 50 acres were constructed and constructions are in process on an area of 20 acres.
