Kim Kardashian – most followed person on Instagram

Kim Kardashian – most followed person on Instagram

YEREVAN, AUGUST 25, ARMENPRESS. Kim Kardashian has finally won the popularity contest by unseating Beyonce as the most followed person on the picture sharing app.Armenpress reports, referring to “Daily Mail” that the 34-year-old reality star has defeated the pop star by a slim margin of just over 70,000 followers.

Kim has racked up over 44 million Instagram acolytes compared to Queen Bey's 3.9 million legion of social media disciples. It was just two weeks ago that Kim was ranked in the number two spot with only 42million followers. That means she has gained over 2 million followers in the past 14 days.

If Kim Kardashian's Instagram were a country it would be the 32nd largest in the world, just a hairsbreadth behind Ukraine (with a population of 44, 291, 413) and nearly a million ahead of Argentina.

Only one Instagram account eclipses both Beyonce and Kim by far: Instagram itself, which is nearly twice their combined following at 94.3million. But if Kim keeps clawing in the followers at the rate she is, she could one day even overtake that too.It was only in February of this year Kim celebrated hitting the 27million milestone, meaning she has packed on 17million followers in the space of seven months. This means that since February 26, Kim has gained nearly one new follower every second.

One of the reasons may be the racy pics she posts when she hits a milestone: she rewarded those first 27million followers back in February with her infamous 'belfie' shot. And when she hit the 42 million mark she treated her fans to a cleavage selfie. Both of Kim's younger half sisters Kylie and Kendall also make the top ten most followed Instagram accounts, while Khloe is ranked number 10 with 30.5 million followers.
