YEREVAN, AUGUST 5, ARMENPRESS. The project Children’s Bestseller of the Armenpress News Agency summarizes the results of July 2015. Armenpress decided to present the rating list of the children’s books to the readers once a month.

Charles Perrault’s “Puss in Boots” tops this week's rating list. "Master Cat; or, The Booted Cat” commonly known in English as "Puss in Boots", is a European literary fairy tale about a cat who uses trickery and deceit to gain power, wealth, and the hand of a princess in marriage for his penniless and low-born master.

Little Red Riding Hood is 2nd on the list. Little Red Ridinghood, also known as Little Red Cap or simply Red Riding Hood, is a European fairy tale about a young girl and a Big Bad Wolf. The story has been changed considerably in its history and subject to numerous modern adaptations and readings. The story was first published by Charles Perrault.

“The Town Musicians of Breme” by the Brothers Grimm occupies the third place. This is a folktale recorded by the Brothers Grimm. Despite the title of the fairy tale, the characters never actually arrive in Bremen. In Aarne–Thompson classification it is a folk tale of type 130: "outcast animals find a new home".

” Tales of Good and Evil", a small collection, including three exciting tales, is the fourth.

“Doctor Aibolit” is 5th on the list. It is about a famous doctor that is loved by all children. The next is “The Scarlet Flower”.

“Bed-time stories” by Bookinist occupies the 7th placե.

“Fairy Tales for Boys” is next on the list.

The book “Fairy Tales about Princesses" occupies the 9th place.

Popular "Masha and the Bear" tale closes this week's rating list. This book has always been included in the bestseller books list and occupied high rank positions.

New Book (093-60-40-64), Noyan Tapan (56-81-84), Armenian Book (54-07-06), Edit Print (57-70-09), Bookinist (53-74-13) and Zangak (23-25-28) bookshops participated in the preparation of the rating list. Textbooks were not considered during the inquiries.
