More than 1,500 schools destroyed in Iraq's Anbar since 2014
YEREVAN, AUGUST 4, ARMENPRESS. More than 1,500 schools have been damaged or destroyed in Anbar province by the ISIS.
"Anbar has been hit badly... More than 1,500 schools have been partially or completely destroyed," Eid Ammash, a spokesman for the provincial council said.
Armenpress reports, referring to the international media, that many schools had been used by the terrorists as headquarters that were bombed by the Iraqi Army and International Coalition.
"It will take a lot of money and at least two and a half years for Anbar schools to be rebuilt and rehabilitated," Ammash said.
According to the latest figures from the United Nations, more than 70 percent of displaced children do not have access to education.On July 13 the Iraqi Army announced about the lunch of liberation military operations of Anbar Province. The ISIS controls 80 percent of the province.
