Baku-Tbilisi-Kars-Erzurum gas pipeline explosion in Turkey

YEREVAN, AUGUST 4, ARMENPRESS. An explosion occurred due to an unknown reason in the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars-Erzurum gas pipeline. Armenpress reports the abovesaid citing Turkish Anadolu agency. The Governor of Turkey's north-eastern Kars province, Günay Özdemir, said that the reasons of the explosion are being investigated and gas flow has stopped in the region following the explosion.

A week earlier, the PKK which is considered a terror organization in Turkey, had attacked the Kirkuk-Yumurtalık oil pipeline as well as the gas pipeline in the Ağrı Province (Ararat) transferring gas from Iran to Turkey.
