YEREVAN, AUGUST 3, ARMENPRESS. The Iraqi forces have taken control over Jazira desert located in the western part of Anbar Province blocking the transport routes of the terrorists of the Islamic State in the city of Ramadi. As “Armenpress” reports, citing Arabic media, the Iraqi troops are advancing to liberate the populated districts of the city. 79 terrorists were killed during the military operations.

In the framework of the anti-terrorist operations all the populated districts in the vicinity of Anbar University were liberated paving the way to the center of Ramadi.

One of the commanders of the Anbar operation announced that the joint Iraqi forces have inflicted heavy losses on the IS, a lot of explosive devices were defused, including mined vehicles and houses.

Earlier, on July 13, the Command of Iraqi Army had declared about the start of liberation operations of Anbar Province.
