YEREVAN, JULY 30, ARMENPRESS. The Minister of Diaspora of the Republic of Armenia Hranush Hakobyan received the Consul General of Armenia in Aleppo (Syria) Tigran Gevorgian. As “Armenpress” was informed from the press service of the Ministry of Diaspora, the Consul General introduced the situation in Aleppo, which has intensified recently, to the Minister.

He mentioned that it is particularly alarming the fate of the nursing home, where 46 people reside and the orphanage where 30 children have found shelter.  Due to lack of water and electricity the social conditions have worsened, deficiency in nutrition is also significant.

Minister Hranush Hakobyan, expressing deep sorrow for the fate of the Armenians in Aleppo, promised to do her best to support them.

During the meeting the interlocutors also referred to the problems of Syrian Armenians sheltered in Armenia.
