Government cuts number of business inspections to minimum

YEREVAN, JULY 30, ARMENPRESS. The Government of the Republic of Armenia declared invalid one of its previous decisions on cutting the number of inspections of businesses to the minimum. “According to the proposed project, the inspection of the agencies is limited till January 1, except the tax and customs bodies.” Armenpress reports that Minister - Chief of Staff of the Government of the Republic of Armenia Davit Harutyunyan said the aforementioned at the Government session of the executive body.

Davit Harutyunyan mentioned the following:

“Only 10 percent of the checklist will be implemented till January 1, 2016. The inspections on state-owned, as well as non-profit organizations that do not pursue economic profit, will progress. The inspections will also go on at schools and kindergartens to ensure the provision of high quality nourishment to our children.”

During the administrative procedure the inspection bodies must turn to the PM of the Republic of Armenia for inspecting the businesses. The inspections can be carried out only on the PM’s agreement. The Chief of Staff of the Government of the Republic of Armenia said that the number of inspections will essentially reduce, as well as undue interference in their activities.

The PM Hovik Abrahamyan highlighted the importance of the decision. The latter according to him will have a positive impact on business environment. All the Ministers were assigned by the PM to strictly comply with all the requirements of the decision. The Prime Minister also urged the businessmen to increase financial discipline.
