GDP of EAEU member states to rise in 2016-2017

YEREVAN, JULY 29, ARMENPRESS. Efforts are underway to strengthen future macroeconomic and monetary cooperation between the EAEU member states under the light of the macroeconomic trends of the member states of the organization.

The macroeconomic policy department of the Eurasian Economic Commission prepared a report on the macroeconomic trends of the EAEU member states for the first quarter of 2015 and on forecasting economic development of the EAEU member states during 2015-2017.

“Armenpress” reports that according to the report, the drop in energy prices in some member states, which highly depend on energy exports and the devaluation of the Russian ruble, caused the slowdown of the economic development in EAEU member states during the 1st quarter of 2015.

“Overall, due to positive dynamics in world energy market the situation has stabilized in the stock exchanges of the EAEU member states. The GDP of the member states will decrease by 2.4%, but GDP rise is expected in 2016-2017. The economic growth in the EAEU member states can reach 0.9% in 2016 and 1.3% in 2017”, is mentioned in the report.
