Armenia attributes great importance to expanding relations with Kurdistan: Armenia PM
YEREVAN, JULY 29, ARMENPRESS. Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan received the Minister of Planning of Iraqi Kurdistan - Ali Sindi on July 29.
Armenpress was informed from the Information and Public Relations Department of the Government of Armenia, that the Prime Minister welcomed the guest and expressed his confidence that Ali Sindi’s visit will give new impetus to the development of the relations between Armenia and Iraqi Kurdistan. Hovik Abrahamyan said that Armenia attributes great importance to expanding the relations between Armenia and Kurdistan and the latter is testified by the decision of opening a Consulate General in Erbil.
Ali Sindi thanked the PM for the warm welcome and conveyed Kurdish Prime Minister Nechirvan Barzani’s best wishes and warm greetings to Hovik Abrahamyan, the Government of Armenia and the Armenian people. The sides expressed their satisfaction on the level of the current political dialogue and attributed great importance to activating economic and trade ties and identifying spheres of mutual interest.
The importance of the activities of the Armenian-Iranian intergovernmental commission was mutually stressed in terms of full realization of economic potential. The sides also highlighted the importance of establishing direct contacts between Kurdish and Armenian business circles, organization of conferences and business meetings.
Hovik Abrahamyan conveyed his warm greetings to Kurdish Prime Minister Nechirvan Barzani.
