Turkey has no aim of becoming neighbor with IS: Davutoğlu

YEREVAN, JULY 27, ARMENPRESS. Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu said, in connection with the tensions on Turkey-Syria border, that they have no aim of becoming a neighbor with the terrorist group IS - operating in Syria. Armenpress informs, citing the Hürriyet Daily News, that the aim of Turkey is “to place “moderate opposition” in the zone liberated from IS fighters

Davutoğlu said that there are certain discrepancies between Turkey and the USA in connection with the IS, but they had important points in common as well.

Turkey tries to reach the USA’s agreement on creating a 30m deep no-fly zone over the Turkey-Syria border. Under the pretence of struggle against terrorism Ankara wants to clean of the Kurds the area on Turkey-Syria border. Turkey is afraid that, in case the Kurdish troops fighting against the IS have success, they may proclaim Kurdish autonomy, which, no doubt, will encourage the Kurds living in Turkey.
