Armenian PM considers activation of Armenia-Japan economic relations necessary

YEREVAN, JULY 23, ARMENPRESS. The Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Hovik Abrahamyan received the first Resident Ambassador of Japan to Armenia Eiji Taguchi on July 23.

As “Armenpress” was informed from the Information and Public Relations Department of the Government Staff of the Republic of Armenia, the head of the Government congratulated the Japanese Ambassador for starting his diplomatic mission and wished him productive work. The Prime Minister hoped that the existence of diplomatic representatives in Armenia and Japan will promote bilateral friendly relations and strengthen the cooperation. Hovik Abrahamyan expressed satisfaction for political dialogue between Armenia and Japan and considered it necessary to make efforts aimed to activate economic relations and thoroughly utilize the existing potential. In this context, the Prime Minister spotlighted the importance of organizing business conferences and meetings between the business circles of the two countries which will give an opportunity to outline new directions for cooperation and bring new joint projects to life.

Ambassador Taguchi expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister of reception and assured that he will make maximum efforts to extent and deepen the productive cooperation as well as to strengthen bilateral ties during his tenure. Eiji Taguchi highlighted strengthening ties between Armenian and Japanese business representative and organizing business forums, too.

The interlocutors exchanged ideas about future partnership in the sectors of energetics, agriculture and IT referring to prospects of Armenian-Japanese partnership. The Prime Minister thanked the Government of Japan for financial and technical support to Armenia.
