Police of Republic of Armenia will prevent any illegal activity. Deputy Police Chief of Yerevan

YEREVAN, JULY 6, ARMENPRESS. The police of the Republic of Armenia will not allow the citizens gathered in the Azatutyun Square to conduct an unsanctioned march and will prevent any illegal activity. This was mentioned by the Deputy Police Chief of Yerevan Valeri Osipyan and added that the police acted adequate and proportionate while reestablishing the traffic on Baghramyan Avanue on July 6. He also mentioned that no force was used against the demonstrators on July 6. “The Police of the Republic of Armenia did an excellent job, acting adequate and proportionate. The activities conducted by us can become an example for the police of any other country”. Stressed Valeri Osipyan.

The traffic of the Baghramyan Avenue was fully reestablished at 13:00-14:00 on July 6. As it had been promised by the police before, they did it without using force. But for removing those who were sitting on the street it was required to take them up and carry to the pavement. Some of them were arrested.

Baghramyan Avenues has been blocked for more than two weeks. The police regularly called the demonstrators to refrain from illegal activities and on July 6 the police had to remove the bins.
