Detainees won’t be prosecuted: Deputy Chief of Police

YEREVAN, JULY 6, ARMENPRESS: The Police of the Republic of Armenia assures that the detainees will not be prosecuted. After restoring the traffic on Baghramyan Avenue, the Deputy Chief of the Yerevan Police Valery Osipyan announced that they would not have been detained if they had listed to the hours-long calls of the police and implemented the legal demands.  
“In any case I assure you that they are our sisters and brothers and no prosecution will be implemented against them and they will be set free”, - stated Valery Osipyan.
Earlier it was reported that the police opened the traffic part of Baghramyan Avenue. The participants of the sit strike were removed from the middle of the avenue and the first cars passed. The police did it, as it was promised, without using violence, though to remove the participants of the rally, it was necessary to raise them and move to the sidewalk. The deputies of the National Assembly Nikol Pashinyan, Naira Zohrabyan, Vahe Enfiajyan and the representatives of public organizations were at the site.
Armenpress reported that several activists were detained by the police. The number of them is not known yet.
