Police remove trash bins from Baghramyan Avenue

YEREVAN, JULY 6, ARMENPRESS: The Police of the Republic of Armenia started removing the trash bins from the Baghramyan Avenue and restoring the traffic, which was idle for nearly two weeks. A group of citizens are sitting in the middle of the street, stating that they will not leave. The Deputy Chief of Yerevan Police Valery Osipyan announced that the abovementioned actions are not aimed at stopping the rally, if it continues in the non-traffic part of the avenue and does not hinder the normal process of the traffic.

He suggested continuing the rally in a place, which is not connected with traffic areas. He also called on the activist David Sanasaryan not to go for provocations.
The Deputy Chief of the Police of the Republic of Armenia Hunan Poghosyan promised not to use any violence towards the several protesters on the avenue.
Earlier it was reported that the Police of the Republic of Armenia is going to restore the traffic on Baghramyan Avenue on July 6, which was idle for nearly two weeks, as well as remove from the avenue the objects, which hinder the traffic. The press service of the Police of the Republic of Armenia informed Armenpress that notwithstanding the fact that the Police has already warned the organizers and participants of the illegal rally to remove the blocking of the avenue voluntarily, these calls were fully ignored during the recent days. Nevertheless, the Police of the Republic of Armenia once again and for the last time suggests the organizers and participants of the rally to voluntarily remove the blocking of Baghramyan Avenue by 12:30. Otherwise, from 12:30 the Police of the Republic of Armenia will do it with the use of its powers. The Police of the Republic of Armenia announces as well that the abovementioned actions are not aimed at stopping the rally, if it continues on the non-traffic part of the avenue and does not hinder the normal course of traffic on Baghramyan Avenue.
