ATHENS, JULY 4, ARMENPRESS: Neither the representatives of the Greek Armenian community, nor the national traditional parties spread any statement or announce about the position how the Greek Armenians should vote during the forthcoming forum to be held on July 5 in Greece. Mike Chilinkarian, the director of Azad Or Magazine, published in Athens, told Armenpress that due to the program, proposed by the European Union, serious financial cuts and reforms will be implemented in the country to avoid default and added that this program caused uncertainty among the Greeks. At this moment the main concern, which the Greek Armenians have over the forthcoming financial cuts, relates to the education. In the schools the salary of the Armenian language teachers is paid by the state and in this regard the community does not exclude that the new reforms will have a negative impact on the Armenian teachers. “Five years ago, when the economic crisis was just beginning, we had alike problem, though we managed to settle that issue at that time. On this occasion we had several meetings with the authorities of the country and told them that the most important thing for us is the issue of the schools and all the other things are just of secondary importance. We told them that we want that the Armenian teachers continue being paid by the state”, - stressed Chilinkarian.
