Belarus is for peaceful resolution of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict: Sharmazanov

YEREVAN, JULY 3, ARMENPRESS. The members of the Armenian delegation of the Armenian-Belarusian Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Committee have presented details on the 3-day visit to Belarus and the meetings. During the conference which took place in the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, Eduard Sharmazanov - the head of the Armenian delegation of the Armenian-Belarusian Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Committee, Vice President of the National Assembly - stressed that the Nagorno-Karabakh issue was touched upon during the meetings with Vladimir Andreychenko – head of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Belarus Republic, as well as with Victor Guminski – Vice-President of the House of Representatives.      

The Vice-President of the National Assembly of Armenia mentioned that the Armenian MP-s reaffirmed that Armenia is for the peaceful resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. As Armenpress reports, Sharmazanov said, “I condemned the resolution of conflicts in the military way and considered the military rhetoric of Azerbaijan unacceptable. Vladimir Andreychenko in his turn mentioned that Belarus is a proponent of exceptionally peaceful resolution of the conflict in the OSCE Minsk Group format.”

The Armenian MP-s also voiced questions about the Armenian Genocide during the meetings with their Belorussian colleagues. Sharmazanov stressed that he highlighted in his speech that if the international society had adequately assessed the Armenian Genocide, maybe there would be no Fascism and Nazism.
