Armenpress introduces bestseller books list 3/6

YEREVAN, JULY 1, ARMENPRESS: The project Children’s Bestseller of the Armenpress News Agency summarizes the results of June 2015. Armenpress decided to present the rating list of the children’s books to the readers once a month.

The leader of June is the fairy tale of Bookinist bookshop “The Scarlet Flower”. The second horizontal is occupied by the “Planet of Fairy Tales”, summarizing the works of Hovhannes Tumanyan.

The third is the collection of “Fairy Tales” by Hovhannes Tumanyan, one of the most read authors of the all times. It was published by Krunk publishing house. The works of Tumanyan are demanded by all generations. Even the adults enjoy reading them. The fairy tales are based on the folk themes and stories.

The fairy tale “Doctor Aybolit”, summarizing the adventures of the famous doctor, is on the fourth place of the list. The fifth horizontal is occupied with the book “Masha and the Bear: The Flying Broom” by the Bookinist publishing house. As many other fairy tales, which were written based on the modern cartoons, “Masha and the Bear: The Flying Broom” attracted the children in quite a short period of time. It tells about Masha’s adventures and the magic broom. The book tells how the broom can be used to transfer things, besides cleaning the house.

The collection of “100 classic fairy tales” of Zangak publishing house is the 6th. The book includes the tales of the favorite classic writers. The famous fairy tales heroes make the life attractive for the children of the age 4-9. The collection includes such fairy tales, as “King's new clothes”, “Cinderella”, “The Little Mermaid”… Every fairy tale is accompanied with colored pictures.

“Tales” (Arevik publishing house) by the German writers Brothers Grimm occupies the 7th place of our list. The vast majority of the tales by the Brothers Grimm are based upon actual events. Most of their tales have been screened. In the works of the Brothers Grimm laziness is punished and diligence and hard work are encouraged.

The collection of “The wise fairy tales of the world” of Edit Print publishing house is on the 8th place. The collection includes 40 selected fairy tales of different nations and authors, most of which were translated into Armenian for the first time. The tales of the book present the realities and values, which were established by the centuries-old history and experience of the people and which still maintain the modernity. Each of these fairy tales is a separate world, the exploration of which provides with the opportunity to discover new layers of the wisdom or reconfirm them and re-find the fairy tale in ourselves.

Edit Print republished “The House of Sassoun” book. The story of the Armenian folk epos, written by Mkrtich Kheranyan for the children, is told in details by Angel Kyurkchyan and Lilit Ter-Grigoryan.

The list is concluded by the collection of “Fairy Tales” by Ghazaros Aghayan. The fairy tales of the classic were translated into different languages of the world and became the favorites in many countries. The collection was published by Arevik publishing house.  

New Book (093-60-40-64), Noyan Tapan (56-81-84), Armenian Book (54-07-06), Edit Print (57-70-09), Bookinist (53-74-13) and Zangak (23-25-28) bookshops participated in the preparation of the rating list. Textbooks were not considered during the inquiries.
