State Youth Orchestra of Armenia to perform at UNESCO

YEREVAN, MAY 27, ARMENPRESS. On June 3, 2015 at 20:00 the State Youth Orchestra of Armenia, headed by its Artistic Director and Principal Conductor Sergey Smbatyan, will perform at UNESCO World Heritage Center Segur Hall within the framework of the concert, entitled “Youth for Peace”.

The Public Relations Department of the State Youth Orchestra of Armenia informed “Armenpress’ that the latter is a grand project aimed at delivering peace all over the world with the almighty power of her Majesty Music. All the musicians participating in the project perform as Ambassadors for Peace, making the whole world realize the most important message for the humanity: regardless of ethnic or religious affiliation, the only way of our peaceful existence is the protest against violence and oppression.     

Today the role of the youth is becoming more and more vital in various areas decision making.  As representatives of art, we believe that living in a peaceful and harmonious world is one of the most important factors, if not the most important one to educate new generation and continue creating.

During the concert the achievements of the Armenian Music School will be represented not only by SYOA but also by the leading groups and artists of our country. “Katuner” Jazz Band, Narek Hakhnazaryan (cello), Michael Voskanyan (tar), Inga and Anush Arshakyan (singers), Gevorg Dabaghyan (duduk), Narek Kazazyan (kanun) will perform as Ambassadors for peace for the very project.

The foreign audience will be presented the compositions by our renowned compatriots: Aram Khachaturian, Sayat-Nova, Alexander Arutiunian, Mikhail Tariverdiev and many others will make the program of the evening even more attractive.
