NKR Supreme Court leaves verdict on Azerbaijani diversionists’ case unchanged

STEPANAKERT, 27 MAY, ARMENPRESS. During a May 27 open-door trial, the Supreme Court of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, examining through the appeal procedure the appeals submitted by Eric Beglaryan and Arkadi Israelyan, the attorneys for Dilham Askerov and Shahbaz Guliyev, who illegally crossed the state border of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic through Shahumyan in July 2014, decided to leave the March 10 verdict of the Court of Appeals of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic unchanged. As “Armenpress” reports, according to “Artsakhpress”, the trial was chaired by Arsen Hayrapetyan and Gaiane Grigoryan, under the leadership of Volodya Hovsepyan who, announcing the verdict of the Supreme Court, mentioned that the court ruling would enter into force from the moment of promulgation, would be final and would not be subject to appeal.

During a briefing, Dilham Askerov’s attorney Eric Beglaryan mentioned that there were no more opportunities for appeal and that his defendant still hadn’t decided on whether he would take advantage of the opportunity to address the President of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic with the request for pardon or not.
