Armenia plans increasing peacekeeping troops in Lebanon

 

YEREVAN, MAY 27, ARMENPRESS: With the invitation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants of Lebanon Gebran Bassil, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Edward Nalbandian paid an official visit to Lebanon on May 26. The press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia informed Armenpress that the visit was launched with the meeting with the Prime Minister of Lebanon Tammam Salam.
Welcoming the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, Tammam Salam stated that the Lebanese people have a special sympathy towards the Armenians. Highly evaluating the close friendly relations between the two countries, the Lebanese PM stressed that the Armenian community of Lebanon has its considerable contribution in that.  
Thanking for the reception, Edward Nalbandian stated that in Armenia they highly evaluate the warm and mutually beneficial relations with Lebanon and are ready to make extra efforts to develop and expand the cooperation. The issues of the strengthening of the trade and economic ties and increasing the Lebanese investments in Armenia were discussed. Edward Nalbandian told his Lebanese counterpart that Armenia is going to increase the number of the peacekeeping troops in Lebanon.
