Agenda of Armenian-Iranian cooperation in defense sector specified

YEREVAN, 26 MAY, ARMENPRESS. On 24-25 May, the delegation led by First Deputy Minister of Defense of the Republic of Armenia David Tonoyan was on a working visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran. As the Department of Information and Public Relations of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia reports to “Armenpress”, the main purpose of the visit was to specify the agenda of Armenian-Iranian cooperation in the defense sector and indicate the upcoming events.

During the visit, the First Deputy Minister of Defense had meetings with Iran’s Minister of Defense and Support to Armed Forces, brigadier general Hossein Dehghan and the latter’s deputy, brigadier general Firuz Masih Pur. During the meetings, the sides discussed issues related to regional and international security, as well as the latest developments of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict resolution. David Tonoyan transmitted the invitation of the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Armenia to the Minister of Defense and Support to Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran to visit Armenia. Brigade General Hossein Dehghan accepted Minister of Defense Seyran Ohanyan’s invitation with pleasure and promised to visit Armenia during this year.

The delegation led by the First Deputy Minister of Defense of the Republic of Armenia visited the Malek-Ashtar University of Science and Technology, the Center for Strategic Research of Iran and Etka Company.
