Ken Hachikian calls on signing U.S.-Armenia Trade and Investment Framework Agreement
during Serzh Sargsyan's visit to Washington DC

WASHINGTON DC, 5 MAY, ARMENPRESS. Chairman of the Armenian National Committee of America Ken Hachikian has urged U.S. Trade Representative Michael Froman to sign the U.S.-Armenia Trade and Investment Framework Agreement (TIFA) during President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan’s upcoming visit to Washington DC. As “Armenpress” reports, in the letter addressed to the U.S. official, Hachikian mentioned that the long-awaited bilateral economic accord has been successfully negotiated, but has not yet been formally signed by the United States and Armenia.

The establishment of such an agreement would build meaningfully upon the current U.S.-Armenia economic dialogue. “A TIFA would provide a much needed, broader and more consistent platform for our government to meet and consult on a regular basis with Armenian government officials regarding broadening our economic cooperation and expanding opportunities for trade and investment,” as stated in the letter.
