Armenian pensioner walks to Moscow to lay flowers at tomb of Unknown Soldier

YEREVAN, 5 MAY, ARMENPRESS. The pensioner from Yerevan, 76-year-old Gregory Tepoyan is walking to Moscow. On May 9, he wants to lay flowers at the tomb of Unknown Soldier near the Kremlin wall, as “Armenpress” reports, citing the "Mir" TV channel. Tepoyan devotes the campaign to all the victims of the battles. Five men from his family did not return from the war, including his father. Junior Lieutenant Hunan Tepoyan was killed in December 1943 near Dnepropetrovsk, when he was 30 years old.

Gregory Tepoyan tells that he has planned the campaign a year ago and he prepared for it thoroughly. He was doing physical exercises, was walking along, despite the fact that his wife and daughter did not allow him to do that. That's why he decided to shuffle. On March 22, when all were asleep, he quietly left his home and went to Georgia, Alastan village, from where his father left for the battlefield. Gregory too began his journey from this very place.

The total length of the road is 2236 km.
