YEREVAN, 2 MAY, ARMENPRESS. A concert dedicated to the Battle of Van and the 110^th birth anniversary of folk singer Hairik Muradyan will be held at Arno Babajanyan Concert Hall on May 3.

During a May 2 press conference, Director of Van Folk Ensemble Andranik Hovhannisyan informed that every year Hairik Muradyan’s friends make a pilgrimage to Nubarashen to pay tribute to Hairik at his tomb.

Founding member of Akunk Folk Ensemble Sargis Baghdasaryanmentioned that there used to be a studio next to the former Supreme Court where he had heard Hairik’s voice and had met him.

“Hairik loved guests and would always talk about culture. He would try to teach us about philology and would talk about national songs. His daughter, Maro Muradyan, was very excited when the folk ensembles were being established,” he mentioned.
