YEREVAN, APRIL 24, ARMENPRESS. The President of Serbia Tomislav Nikolić is confident that the Serbians totally understand and share the pain of the Armenian people. Serbia’s President Tomislav Nikolić stated this at the course of the commemoration ceremony of the 100th Anniversary of the Armenian Genocide held in capital Yerevan.

Among other things, Tomislav Nikolić underscored: “We came here, to humbly, but decisively stand by your side, to prevent the repetition of such crimes ever again. In this epoch, when people insidiously speculate even in the term “genocide” for petty political interests, insidiously use legal acts with ambiguous meanings, and even introduce the genocide victims as criminals, how can we, the representatives of the Serbian people, which faced with mass losses in the wars of the last century solely for their nationality, not to come here today? How can we betray the memory of the millions of victims and not to recognize the truth?”
