Cross-stone dedicated to memory of Armenian Genocide victims placed in Valence

YEREVAN, 20 APRIL, ARMENPRESS. On April 19, a cross-stone dedicated to the memory of the innocent victims of the Armenian Genocide was unveiled during a solemn ceremony held at Ijevan Square of the French city of Valence through the efforts and under the sponsorship of President of the France-Ashtarak-Armenia Cultural Union Levon Chatikyan. The ceremony was part of the events dedicated to the Centennial of the Armenian Genocide. The cross-stone is the duplicate of a cross-stone made from Armenian tuff and placed in Julfa in 699-702. As the Department of Media and Public Relations of the Ministry of Diaspora of the Republic of Armenia reports to “Armenpress”, among those attending the solemn ceremony were Mayor of Valence Nicolas Daragon, Levon Chatikyan, several officials, as well as clergymen and members of the local Armenian community.

The welcome speech by Minister of Diaspora of the Republic of Armenia Hranush Hakobyan was read during the event.
