YEREVAN, 20 APRIL, ARMENPRESS. More than 600 parliamentarians, diplomats and genocide experts will seek the paths to prevent genocides and the guarantees ruling out repetition of genocides during a two-day global forum set to kick off on April 22 with an opening ceremony to be held with the participation of President of the Republic of Armenia, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Karen Nazaryan informed during an April 20 press conference. “The goal of the global forum is to help the Republic of Armenia carry out one of the priorities of its foreign policy, that is, discuss the development of mechanisms for genocide prevention in order to completely rule out the repetition of the crime of 1915 and other similar crimes that were committed in the years following 1915,” the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs said, as “Armenpress” reports.

According to Nazaryan, the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, government officials and Members of Parliament will give speeches at the forum. Nazaryan also informed that the two-day forum would include interactive discussions and a plenary session.

The forum will also include professional debates, one of which will be a forum for clergymen with the title “Churches against the Crime of Genocide: Human Life is God’s Gift”, as well as the forum of lawyers to be hosted by the Ministry of Diaspora of the Republic of Armenia and Yerevan State University. There will also be exhibitions, the first of which will showcased 2,000 books devoted to the Armenian Genocide, as well as a photo exhibition showcasing the photos of modern photographers who take photos in the most dangerous places in the world.
