Armenian Genocide Centennial exhibition opens in Minsk

YEREVAN, 18 APRIL, ARMENPRESS. On April 16, the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia in Belarus hosted an exhibition dedicated to the 100thanniversary of the Armenian Genocide at the Home of Friendship of Minsk with the support of the local Armenian community. The exhibition showcased the paintings by Belarusian-Armenian painters and sculptors Grigor Danielyan, Levon Darbinyan, Armen Sardarov, Spartak Harutyunyan and Hripsime Gevorgyan.

As the Department of Press, Information and Public Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia reports to “Armenpress”, foreign ambassadors accredited to Belarus, public and political figures, diplomats, as well as representatives of the local Armenian community and journalists were attending the exhibition.

In his opening remarks at the event, Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to Belarus Armen Khachatryan talked about the Armenian Genocide and thanked those who share the sorrow of the Armenian people.

The exhibition also showcased archival pictures of beautiful sites in Western Armenia, Armenian schools and architectural monuments, as well as pictures showing Armenian cultural heritage and scenes of the Armenian Genocide.
