Armenia expects concrete steps from EU by Riga summit

YEREVAN, 17 APRIL, ARMENPRESS. Armenia expects distinct steps before the EU Eastern Partnership summit in the direction of specifying the format of the further bilateral collaboration. During Parliamentary hearings in the National Assembly "Ahead of Eastern Partnership Summit in Riga", the Deputy of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Garen Nazarian represented the process of exchange of ideas between Armenia and the EU, the results of which have already been summed up.

He stressed that in the end of 2014, a process of exchange of ideas was launched between Armenia and EU in the direction of forming the new legal format for the Armenia-EU cooperation. "During the exchange of ideas, two platforms of discussions had been formed. In the first platform, the discussions were underway in the directions of the political and security collaboration; in the second, to find new ways for economic cooperation. The political discussions were coordinated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia and the Ministry of Economy was regulating the economic part. A month ago, a conference, summing up the result of the discussions, was held in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia,” as “Armenpress” reports, Garen Nazarian highlighted.
