Armenia's President laid wreath at Monument of Unknown Soldier in Rome
ROME, 9 APRIL, ARMENPRESS. The Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan, who is in Italy by official visit, laid a wreath at the Monument of the Unknown Soldier near the Vittoriano Museum Complex, paying tribute to the memory of the missing soldiers of the World War I. The correspondent of “Armenpress” reported from Rome, that the President has been received by the ceremony of military honor. After laying a wreath and bowing his head, Serzh Sargsyan left for the Presidential Residence of Italy to meet newly elected President Sergio Matarella.
The main square of Rome, which is next to the historical and cultural Museum, was full of Italian tourists and passers, who watched with interest the ceremony of paying tribute of the President of the Republic of Armenia. The President has met the Minister of Defense of Italy on 9 April. It is planned to visit the House of Representatives of the Parliament and later the Senate and have a meeting with Senate President Pietro Grasso. President Sargsyan will visit the office of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization to meet the General Director Graziano da Silva.
