Harrison Ford released from hospital three weeks after plane crash

YEREVAN, MARCH 30, ARMENPRESS. Harrison Ford has been spotted out and about in Los Angeles just over three weeks since suffering head, pelvis and ankle injuries in a plane crash.

As reports “Armenpress” citing The Telegraph, the 72-year-old Star Wars actor was taken to UCLA Medical Centre on March 5 after crashing his Second World War plane on a golf course in southern California.

He won praise for his actions, piloting his Ryan Aeronautical ST3KR away from houses and into open space when its engine failed soon after take-off.

Witnesses said he suffered cuts to his head while local media reported he had also broken bones in his pelvis and ankle.

A source told People magazine he had been spotted driving around Los Angeles and had been discharged from hospital to recover in the comfort of his own home.

However, he must still undergo therapy to treat his broken pelvis, according to the magazine.

"The therapy is primarily stabilisation exercises and also gait training, like actually getting the patient up and moving again – pretty much just leaving how to walk while minimizing the main," said Dr Beny Charchian, founder of the Joint and Spine Institute in Beverly Hills, who has not treated the star.

A preliminary report from the National Transportation Safety Board revealed that the crash was caused by "substantial damage following a loss of engine power".

Air traffic control audio captured the moment the Indiana Jones star reported that he was in trouble, cooling saying: "Engine failure, requesting immediate return."
