YEREVAN, MARCH 27, ARMENPRESS. The President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan, who is on a state visit to the People’s Republic of China (PRC), has been hosted at Peking University on March 27. The head of state had a meeting with the university’s leadership at the high-level guests’ hall of the Peking University.

The Mass Media and Public Relations Department of the President’s Office informed “Armenpress” that the interlocutors reflected on the Armenian-Chinese friendship and the development of the cooperation in various spheres including education.

Following this, the President of the Republic of Armenia had a meeting with the students and lecturers of the university. At the course of the meeting, the President of the Republic of Armenia was awarded with the title of the Honorary Professor of the Peking University.

Among other things, the President expressed his gratitude for warm reception and for granting him such an honorary title. In his remarks, Serzh Sargsyan touched upon the directions and priorities, challenges and prospects of Armenia’s foreign policy.

“China is a huge country, which has always developed its relations with other countries based on the principles of the equality of rights and mutual benefit. The cooperation with the PRC in almost all spheres is among the priorities of Armenia’s foreign policy,” President Sargsyan concluded.
