YEREVAN, MARCH 26, ARMENPRESS. Within the framework of the state visit to the People’s Republic of China, the President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan visited Tiananmen Square and paid a tribute to the Monument to the People's Heroes. The ceremony was held on March 26. The Mass Media and Public Relations Department of the Armenian President’s Office informed “Armenpress” that following the visit, President Sargsyan had a meeting with Zhang Dejiang, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the PRC National People’s Congress.

The Chairman of the Standing Committee of the PRC National People’s Congress welcomed the Armenian President and stated that China has a trustworthy and good partner in the face of the Republic of Armenia. The dynamically developing political dialogue between the two countries is based on the mutual respect and trust. He highlighted President Serzh Sargsyan’s state visit to China and the efficient high-level negotiations with the PRC President Xi Jinping held in the frames of the visit. Zhang Dejiang noted that he is convinced that the talks will serve as a new impetus for the bilateral ties taking them to a qualitatively new level.

In addition, the Chairman of the Standing Committee of the PRC National People’s Congress Zhang Dejiang expressed his satisfaction with the collaboration with the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia.

President Sargsyan expressed his gratitude for the warm words and reception. Serzh Sargsyan noted that Armenia views relations with China as a significant priority of foreign policy and attaches great importance to deepening relations with China, representing one of the world’s ancient civilizations and an influential member of the international community.

As part of his visit, the President of the Republic of Armenia will meet with Li Keqiang, Premier of the PRC State Council today on March 26. President will also be hosted at Peking University where he will deliver a speech.

During his visit to the People’s Republic of China, Serzh Sargsyan will take part in the prestigious Boao Forum for Asia 2015 on March 28.
