YEREVAN, 23 MARCH, ARMENPRESS. On the initiative of the French and Swiss embassies in Armenia, the series of events of “The Week Dedicated to the Mountains" will last one week.

As “Armenpress” reports, a large-scale project will be implemented within the framework of Francophonie. The French Ambassador to Armenia Jean-François Charpentier during press conference heralding the launch of the program noted that the embassies of the two countries have worked quite long for the implementation of this initiative.

The Swiss Ambassador to Armenia Lukas Gasern also stresses that the program’s name is not accidental. "Both Armenia and Switzerland are mountainous counties. The seventy percent of the territory of Switzerland is mountains and our history is conditioned by the geographical peculiarity. Armenia as a mountainous country also has special history. Within the framework of "Mountainous Festival" we will organize cinema sessions, discussions and various meetings," Lukas Gasser highlighted.
