Armenian chess player in Tashkent tournament
YEREVAN, 20 MARCH, YEREVAN: The Armenian GM Tigran Petrosian played with advanced player Vladislav Artemiev in the last round of the tournament. The grandmasters ended the match in a draw. Thus, Tigran Petrosian, Armenia’s rapid chess champion, collecting 6.5 points out of the 9 possible, finished at the 8th place.
The Russian representative Vladislav Artemiev won the tournament.
Armenpress reports that Tashkent tournament was held for the 8th time in the memory of George Agzamov.
The prize fund of tournament was US $ 20 thousand, from which the winner has received 4 thousand dollar, the second and third winners have received, correspondingly, 3 and 2 thousand dollars. 76 chess players have participated in the tournament.
