Turkish conference urges to recognize Armenian Genocide

YEREVAN, 17 MARCH, ARMENPRESS. On 14-15 March, a conference titles “Aegean Democracy and Peace" was held in Izmir. During the conference, “Peoples’ Democratic Congress” union in its final document urged the Turkish authorities to recognize the Armenian Genocide.

As “Armenpress” reports citing “Agos” periodical, that influential intellectuals, writers and students have participated in the conference and in the adopted document it is said that without facing the Armenian Genocide, the Kurdish problem in Turkey cannot be solved peacefully.

The statement of the Conference particularly runs as follows: “The massacres of Dersim, the unrevealed killings, massacres of Madimak, Marash, Roboskii, even the massacre carried out outside of country always direct us to look at 1915.”
