YEREVAN, 5 MARCH, ARMENPRESS. Newly elected leader of Prosperous Armenia Party Naira Zohrabyan says she doesn’t have the answers to several questions concerning society, but in her first speech following a consultation with her partisans, she declared that the PAP was an oppositional party. Zohrabyan gave an extensive speech during the political party’s extraordinary congress, which was disseminated by the political party’s news service. As “Armenpress” reports, the following was particularly mentioned in the speech:

 “Frankly, it’s going to be hard for me to answer all the questions concerning our society and members of Prosperous Armenia Party in regard to the political party. I think it’s needless to explain how difficult it is for me to lead the political party after Gagik Tsarukyan decided to leave. It was his personal decision, but each person has the right to make his own decision. I wouldn’t like to touch upon the discussions about that because I believe we made the right decision to continue the activities of Prosperous Armenia Party. We are first and foremost responsible for our voters and our citizens.

 Dear colleagues, I apologize to those whose expectations we weren’t able to meet. I wouldn’t like to talk about the reasons behind what happened, as well as our mistakes and the mistakes of others. Yes, Prosperous Armenia Party is facing difficult times, but strong and viable is the political party that can overcome the difficulties and continues the path with the certainty that it has a lot to do to solve the serious problems facing the country. We have to understand that the problems of the state and people weren’t solved after this domestic political situation and weren’t even mitigated. Believe me when I say that Prosperous Armenia Party has a lot of work to do, and none of us has the moral right to turn around and leave.

 Dear partisans, there are difficult situations, but you can get out of such situations, if your goal and desire are sincere. I’m certain that our goal is to have a strong country and citizens living a dignified life, and for that we’ll continue to work I parliament and outside of parliament. I sincerely confess that we have a lot to think about, analyze and draw conclusions. So, I would like to apologize to the presses for not being able to answer all the questions that my colleagues and I have.

 Believe me when I say that it’s not easy for me to become leader of Prosperous Armenia Party. I understand all the potential problems and difficulties, but we’ll solve and overcome them only if we are united as one. I need your help, and I am certain that we’ll be able to reestablish the dialogue that was stopped and continue to work on solving the serious issues together.

 Dear colleagues, after consulting with everyone, I declare that the Prosperous Armenia Party is a oppositional party.

 I’ll also declare that during the upcoming four-day parliamentary sessions, according to law. It’s obvious that the party will need time to develop its strategy and plan its steps.

 We’ll be holding serious discussions and conducting serious analyses, and we’ll do it together because we are accountable to the people. There is no other way.”
