Commemoration events: U.S. Ambassador Richard MIlls

YEREVAN, 4 MARCH, ARMENPRESS. On March 4, Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Galust Sahakyan received U.S. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Armenia Richard Mills.

As the Department of Public Relations and Mass Media of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia reports to “Armenpress”, Galust Sahakyan congratulated the Ambassador on starting his diplomatic mission in Armenia and voiced hope that the Ambassador’s activities would be marked by further strengthening of Armenia-US relations.

The parliamentary speaker attached importance to the development of Armenia-US relations and the United States’ role in the maintenance of security and stability in the region and in the peaceful regulation of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict as a co-chairing country of the OSCE Minsk Group. Talking about the events dedicated to the Centennial of the Armenian Genocide, Galust Sahakyan mentioned that Armenia looks forward to the participation of a high-ranking U.S. delegation.

Ambassador Richard Mills assured that the U.S. continues to be a friend of Armenia and is determined to maintain peace in the region. Touching upon the events dedicated to the Centennial of the Armenian Genocide, the Ambassador mentioned that the American people stand by the Armenian people’s side and realize the importance of the commemoration events, just like all goodwill people around the world do.
