YEREVAN, 4 MARCH, ARMENPRESS. Deputy Minister of Economy of the Republic of Armenia Garegin Melkonyan says the European Union’s GSP+ system will continue to operate in Armenia in spite of Armenia’s accession to the Eurasian Economic Union on 2 January and assures that there is no need to worry.
“The GSP+ system is currently operating. The European Commission has certain regulations on the cases and procedures for granting the system to a given country. The European Commission also conducts monitoring later. According to the defined procedure, the system is monitored in Armenia. Armenia has submitted a report showing the working procedure to a certain extent. I’m rest assured that Armenia is implementing all the required procedures, and I don’t see any grounds for discussion on the GSP+ issue,” Garegin Melkonyan said during a March 4 press conference, as “Armenpress” reports.
