Protester hurls cup of pomegranate juice at Turkish Ambassador to France

YEREVAN, 3 MARCH, ARMENPRESS. A French protester, who Turkish presses claim is of Armenian descent, expressed his protest during the speech by Turkish Ambassador to France Hakkı Akil at Paris Descartes University. As “Armenpress” reports, citing the Turkish Hurriyet, the young man ran up to the Ambassador during his speech and hurled a cup containing pomegranate juice (pomegranate is the symbol of Armenia) at him.

The Turkish newspaper writes that security officers found out that the protester was of Armenian descent and that a complaint has been filed against him. No media outlet has given the name of the protester. There is a video showing that the young man didn’t speak or say a word in Armenian. France24 also covered the incident, but citing Turkish sources once again. Turkey’s Ambassador to France Hakkı Akil didn’t miss the opportunity and rushed to announce that the Armenians had organized similar attacks in the past.
